Don’t Forget-God Remembers

Don't forget-God remembers. Rainbow across mountains
Don’t forget-God remembers.

Do you ever forget anything?  I sure do.  Today it was some things I left at my niece’s house-who lives 30 miles from mine.  I’ve also went into the kitchen to get something and I can’t remember why I went in there.  (Actually, that works out just fine, since there’s snacks in there.)  I even try to write myself notes so I don’t forget.  I’ll place a sticky note right on the door if I have something specific I need to take with me.  However, sometimes that’s a problem if I forget to write the note that’s supposed to remind me. I sure wish I didn’t have those moments of forgetfulness.

Here’s good news-God doesn’t have that problem at all. He doesn’t have to put a note on the door to Heaven that says, “Don’t forget…”  Even on those dark nights of pain, in circumstances that cause confusion, or in a never-ending trial, God remembers his promises.  “The Lord always keeps his promises; he is gracious in all he does. The Lord helps the fallen and lifts those bent beneath their loads. (Psalm 145:13-14 NLT ) He remembers to care for us.  When life comes at us hard, we can count on God’s faithfulness.  The Lord is a shelter for the oppressed, a refuge in times of trouble.  Those who know your name trust in you, for you, O Lord, do not abandon those who search for you.” (Psalm 9:10) Don’t forget that God promises to give us peace.  He doesn’t want stress, anxiety, or fear to be in any part of our day.  “Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray abut everything.  Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done.  Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand.” (Philippians 4:6-7 NLT) , Let’s commit this to memory: God is faithful.

Thought to ponder: What are some of God’s other promises?

  1. God is proving His faithfulness as I sit at my mother-in-law’s bedside in her final moments on this earth. My mind is racing with thoughts, memories, and praying for His mercy to take her home. We do not fear death because we know that His promise is true that if we are faithful, He will be faithful to the end. I am thankful that mom has been a servant of the Lord and a beautiful picture to me of how to serve our Lord. Thank you for your thoughts today. God Bless!

    1. I am so sorry to hear about your mother-in-law. May she go peacefully into the arms that are holding out for her. And then may our faithful Father give comfort to all her family and friends.
