When I’m in a Zumba class, sometimes I don’t think I’ll make it all the way to the end. I’ll cruise through the warm-up, make it through 3 or 4 songs, and then somewhere in the middle I question my sanity for being there. (To be completely honest, there have been people who have questioned my sanity in other areas of my life, but that’s another story…) I know I’m not alone in my exhaustion, because I see people glancing at the clock and peeking at their watches. Just when I’m thinking of an excuse to sneak out of class, I hear my favorite words, “Last song.” It’s amazing how that changes my attitude. Instead of quitting, I finished!
In the testing times of life, you can keep going too. God is right there with you, giving you strength. Isaiah 40:28-31, “Do you not know? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom. He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.” You can get through this. Your current challenge may seem insurmountable, but God has brilliant ways to deal with the impossible. Jesus said, “All things are possible for him who believes.” (Mark 9:23) So take some advice from Moses, who knew a thing or two about impossible situations, “Don’t be afraid. Just stand still and watch the Lord rescue you today.” (Exodus 14:13)
The rescue always comes just when I think I will have to give up.
That is a perfect message of hope.
