Miracles Still Happen

suns-rays-mountain blogWhen the financial aide administrator at my college told me I had to give  them $1,000 before he’d let me return for my senior year, he should of just told me to bring back the moon.  I’d used academic and sports scholarships, a few grants, and worked every summer on a farm to help me make it to my last year.  But $1,000?  Not possible, especially since I’d hoped to buy a car so I’d be able to drive to the school where I would do my student teaching.  I needed a miracle!  Not one, but two miracles happened in the middle of that summer.  The couple who owned the farm where I worked decided to give me their car (Who does that?).  Then, I was given a $1,000 check to ‘help me with my schooling.’  So there I was, standing at the top of what once seemed to be an insurmountable mountain.

What are you facing that looks impossible? What circumstance in your life needs a miracle? The Israelites knew what that felt like.  When they stood at the edge of the Red Sea with the Egyptian army closing in, it looked liked they had no options.  But Exodus 14:21-22 tells us, “Then Moses stretched out his hand over the sea, and all that night the Lord drove the sea back with a strong east wind and turned it into dry land.  The waters were divided, and the Israelites went through on dry ground…”  Is your back against the wall? No problem. God can make a way for you.  Jesus said in Matthew 19:26, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”  So stay in faith, keep believing for your breakthrough, and by all means put on your hiking boots, because the mountaintop is waiting.
