It’s that time of year when many people are exploring corn mazes. The corn maze is a giant puzzle you walk in that leads you through loops, curves, and sometimes even to a dead end. You could get turned around, you might circle back to places you’ve already seen, or you may even get lost. Most mazes are open only during the day, but occasionally one will be open after dark and you are navigating by a flashlight or the moon, which just adds to the challenge. Corn mazes are designed for entertainment, but when life gets puzzling, it’s not fun.
We can have so many questions! What happens when we’ve gone in circles, when we’ve come back to that same old spot we said we never would, or when we feel lost? Here’s the good news-we have a guide that is always standing ready to show us the way. From James 1:5, “But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all generously and without reproach, and it will given to him.” Not sure which way to turn? “I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my eye upon you.” (Psalm 32:8) Feel like you’ve been here before? “The Lord makes firm the steps of the one who delights in Him; though he stumble, he will not fall, for the Lord upholds him with His hand.” (Psalm 37:23-24) And finally, feel like you’re in the dark and can’t see where your life is headed? From Psalm 119:105, “Your Word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.” Trust God’s GPS, (the Bible). It’s free, it will never say ‘recalculating,’ and it gives perfect directions.
